Why We Started

For years, professionals who live in the browser — developers, security engineers, founders, remote workers — faced the same broken workflow. Google Authenticator lived on a phone. The desktop was an afterthought. Copy-pasting six-digit codes between devices became muscle memory. Screen-sharing during demos meant hiding your phone like a state secret. Authy's desktop story fizzled. Enterprise solutions demanded budgets and IT tickets most individuals will never have.

The workarounds were worse than the problem. Storing seeds in plaintext notes. Photographing QR codes. Running Android emulators just to read a TOTP. Every shortcut traded convenience for exposure.

We built OTPSync because the gap was obvious and nobody was closing it honestly.

Our Mission

Bridge absolute cybersecurity with seamless daily use.

Security tools fail when they fight the user's environment. OTPSync meets you inside Chrome, Edge, and Firefox — the surfaces where you already sign in, deploy code, approve transactions, and manage infrastructure. Two-factor authentication should happen there, not on a separate device you have to fish out of your pocket.

But convenience without encryption is negligence. So we refused to compromise on the architecture.

OTPSync is not a mobile app ported to desktop. It is a browser extension engineered from the ground up for cross-browser freedom:

• Zero-knowledge by design. Your custom passcode never leaves your device. Secrets are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they touch OTPSync Cloud or your Google Drive. We store ciphertext. We cannot read your codes. Period.
• Real desktop workflows. Right-click autofill. Smart tab-aware suggestions. One-click code hiding for screen shares. Import from Google Authenticator exports without starting over.
• Your backup, your choice. Sync through our infrastructure, through Google Drive, or both. No vendor lock-in. No hostage data.
• Honest pricing. A capable free tier. Premium is a one-time $15 lifetime unlock — not another subscription draining your card every month.

OTPSync is for anyone who treats 2FA as infrastructure, not an inconvenience. Solo developers juggling twelve SaaS accounts. Freelancers who refuse to carry two phones. Small teams without a dedicated security department but with no patience for sloppy practices. Privacy-conscious individuals who read privacy policies before they click "Accept."

If you have ever thought, there has to be a better way to do this on my computer — that thought is why OTPSync exists.

How We Think About Privacy

Privacy is not a marketing bullet on our homepage. It is a constraint we design around. Zero-knowledge is not a feature we added — it is the foundation we cannot remove without destroying the product's reason for being. We collect the minimum account data required to verify subscriptions and enforce plan limits. We do not sell data. We do not want your secrets. We literally cannot access them.

Looking Ahead

Cross-browser authenticator support is still embarrassingly immature industry-wide. We intend to raise the bar — tighter sync, smarter autofill, stronger device controls — without ever asking you to trust us with plaintext. The roadmap is public in our actions: ship what professionals need, encrypt everything worth protecting, and stay out of the way.
